2022-2023 State SAT School Day for OPRFHS Juniors
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has implemented the SAT as a required college-readiness test for all juniors. The SAT our students take at school can be used for college admissions, as nearly every college and university that requires a test score accepts SAT. All public high school juniors must take the SAT School Day in order to earn a high school diploma, unless the student has an IEP that specifies the DLM-Alternate Assessment. School code also requires the scores from the state-mandated college readiness assessment to be placed on students’ transcripts. SAT scores will be shown on the transcript, unless parents request that the score be removed. More information about that process is available here.

The State SAT School Day date is April 12, 2023. Makeup testing will take place on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Students approved by College Board to test with doble time accommodations will test over two days.
No registration is required. All Juniors will automatically be registered for test through school.
Things to bring on exam day
- School ID or State ID
- At least two No. 2 pencils with erasers
- Calculator. Find the full list of College Board approved calculators here
- Epinephrine auto-injectors or asthma inhailer for those who require this
- Water bottle (water fountains will remain closed)
- You may bring a backpack to hold these items
Things to leave at home
Any device, including digital watches, that can be used to record, transmit, receive, or play back audio, photographic, text, or video content
- Audio players/recorders, tablets, laptops, notebooks, Google Glass, or any other personal computing devices
- iPods or other MP3 players
- iPads or other tablet devices
- Laptops, notebooks, PDAs or any other personal computing devices
- Any texting device
- Cameras or any other photographic equipment
- Separate timers of any type
- Protractors, compasses, rulers
- Highlighters, colored pens, colored pencils, mechanical pencils
- Pamphlets or papers of any kind
- Dictionaries or other books—there are no exceptions, even if English is not your first language
- Food (except for during breaks), unless approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities
If student bring cellphones to school they will be asked to turn them in to the proctor before test begins. Cell phones should be off at all time. Students should not be using phone during testing or during break.
Length of test
SAT School Day will include essay for the school year 2023.

For students with IEP or 504 Plans, OPRFHS has submitted requests for testing accommodations to College Board and will implement all approved testing accommodations. Please contact Mrs. Dawn Joseph at (708) 434-3108 if you have any questions about your child's test accommodations.
Students are not allowed to have cell phones in the testing room. Please reinforce this important information with your student. Cell phones should remain locked in lockers or left at home on the day of the test.
