A & D Hewitt Memorial Fund Award

$250 and $500 awards to encourage and enable students to explore possibilities in new and varied areas of interests, expanded cultural experiences, leadership training, and new skills development. Eligible applicants are high school Freshmen through Juniors attending area high schools.  Examples of qualifying programs include: pre-college summer camps at universities, language study abroad, STEAM or art camps and Internships.

Alumni Association: Bobbie Raymond Summer Enrichment Grants

Named to honor one of its founding members and long-time President Bobbie Wolin Raymond (class of 1955) the Alumni Association provides grants to students for academic-related SUMMER enrichment opportunities.  The goal is to provide enrichment and enhance motivation of students, particularly those with limited resources. Carlos Baldoceda Memorial Music Enrichment Award

The Carlos G. Baldoceda Fund is dedicated to supporting young musicians by providing scholarships for experiences that will help them meet their musical goals. Selected applications will receive a $1,000 award to be applied towards programs, materials, equipment, or instruction that furthers their musical goals.  The award cannot be applied to school tuition.

CIEE Scholarship

The CIEE Scholarship is awarded to OPRF freshman, sophomores and juniors to study abroad.   Scholarships are based on merit and financial need. For more information contact Betsy Farley (BFarley@oprfhs.org).

On Wednesday, 10/19 Tim Rogers, the new representative from CIEE will come to present Study Abroad programs to our students. CIEE has a semester, year-long, and summer programs and Tim will focus on the summer programs. The deadline to apply is December 1st.  This year, $25,000 is allocated for OPRF students.

The Crystal Charitable Fund

The Crystal Charitable Fund grant is for an extended “away from home” cultural, educational, or other experience that will provide a skill, knowledge and/or personal value as a means of support to the individual.  Scholarships are limited to students that are able to demonstrate extreme financial need.

The Dring Language Fellowship

The Dring Language Fellowship will assist one or more recipients for an international travel experience for the purpose of improving or perfecting foreign language skills. In order to emphasize language improvement, an individual intense or immersion experience is foreseen. There is no specific minimum length of program, but very short trips which would have little impact on language improvement will be discouraged. Priority will be given to students who are able to demonstrate financial need, although all students are encouraged to apply. Click here for flyer.

Farr Brothers Technical Scholarship (Rotary Club)

$1,000 technical school scholarship for person entering or completing training in the trades or vocational program (other than a four-year college) and is a resident of Oak Park or River Forest.

The Linda Solomon Levine Travel Award will provide up to $2,500 to assist one or more African-American students to participate in an overseas student exchange trip sponsored by Oak Park and River Forest High School during the school year. Financial need is a main consideration.

Tom Neumann Memorial Summer Learning Fund

The Tom Neumann Memorial Summer Learning Fund provides scholarships to Oak Park and River Forest High School juniors each year to participate in an intensive and extended (generally 3 or more weeks) development program of their choice during the summer between junior and senior year of high school.

The Laura Southwick Foundation

The Laura Southwick Foundation provides small grants in the range of $500- $1,000 to young people between who are high school freshmen, sophomores or juniors who have shown an interest in the applied or fine arts. The hope is that this support will encourage young people to begin to discover their own style and start to shape their creative aspirations. Tibensky Academic Enrichment Scholarship

The Tibensky Family Academic Enrichment Scholarship will provide opportunities for students to experience a wide variety of academic enrichment programs offered by Oak Park and River Forest High School. A scholarship, not to exceed $2,500, will be awarded yearly to one student wishing to participate in an overseas or domestic travel program during the school year.
